Privacy policy

CinemaVerse India (cinemaverse.online) is operated by Adrita Kuteera (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your basic Google profile if you sign in with Google.

What you do on the site: watchlist, favourites and bookmarks, ratings, reactions and comments you post.

Notifications: if you turn on browser alerts, a push subscription token for your browser.

Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security, rate limiting and basic statistics.

We do not collect payment details, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

Why we use it

To run your account and keep you signed in; to save your lists and show personalised recommendations; to send the release and OTT alerts you asked for; to moderate comments and keep the site safe; and to understand which pages are useful so we can improve them.

Cookies and advertising

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. If we show ads (for example Google AdSense), Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have agreed. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that host and run the site on our behalf (hosting, database, email and notification services), when required by law, or to protect the site and its users.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.

Your rights

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell signed-in users about important changes.
